Calpine is committed to allowing employees to hear about and express interest in all of our job openings before we begin recruiting in the communities we serve. This is accomplished through a process of internal job postings. Information about the job duties, requirements and locations of jobs is e-mailed to all employees when a new position becomes available. Employees are encouraged to manage their careers by taking meaningful promotional steps.

Dreaming of retiring in Florida? Watch for an opening in one of our Florida power plants! Calpine supports a mobile workforce and last year assisted in the relocation of numerous employees who chose to try a new location for work. Especially with the number of new plants we have under construction, we encourage everyone -- from power plant operator to managers -- to consider supporting a new part of our operations.

Educational Reimbursement
If that next career step at Calpine is going to require some further education, Calpine will help there, too. We reimburse employees for up to $7,500 per year (depending on employee status) for tuition, books and lab fees. This policy applies toward study programs offered by accredited educational institutions.

Calpine Training Center
Calpine has a state-of-the-art training center in Folsom, California. From power plant operations to systems development to management development, Calpine is committed to developing and strengthening its employees. Employees can watch the Training Center course offerings to find what they need to further develop their skills.
